MTRW Of The Day | Lean Leg Shredder & My First Handstand :)

Hi guys,

This has been a tough year but I will say it was a year I learned my first shoulder and handstand. I kept reading many inspirational articles where the underlying theme was ” Magic happens out of your comfort zone”.  So today is the day I did my first handstand and then another 5 just to make sure I got it. So going forward I would be practicing the skill for 3 days out of the week and eventually build up the strength to do handstand push ups :). I figured, if I take 1 skill that I really want to be able to do and keep going at it until I get it, then pick something else. Being able to do handstand push-ups is my long standing desire so shooting to do 5 x 5 by the end of the next year or more.

Well here is your today’s workout and it has 2 parts:

Part 1 | 5 reps x 5 rounds

  • 5 handstands
  • 5 knee power-up ( get down on your knees then power up to low squat and if up to it jump up to a knee tuck)

Part 2 | 4 rounds x 12 reps | set your Gymboss timer as a stopwatch | as little breaks as possible

  • KB narrow stance squat | 2 x 16 kg
  • KB Overhead hold + backward lunge to knee up | each leg
  • KB deadlift
  • KB side lunge
