You might already know but in India Lassi is a very popular drink. Traditionally it has sugar and salt – not too healthy. So we make it Free2BFit friendly – and we are using Kefir. Kefir is actually a staple in Russian diet. I grew up drinking it. Whole foods has great variety but I do stick to plain since flavored has all the added sugar. It has a tangy taste but more then anything it is full of health boosting probiotics. And not to make it not boring you can add fresh or frozen unsweetened fruit 🙂

- 1 cup frozen mango chunks | unsweetened
- 1 cup goat kefir
- 5 fresh mint leaves + 2 for decoration
- juice of 1/2 lemon + | slice for decoration
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. You can substitute frozen mango for fresh to make it more like liquid yogurt. But I really enjoyed how sweet frozen mango cut though the sour taste the sour kefir taste and gave the Lassi it’s creamy consistency, while mint and lemon added a bit of tangy kick. Yam. Yam and tummy friendly 🙂 Decorate with mint leaves and sliced lemon.
